Buffalo- Jordan Luplow and Luis De Los Santos doubled and homered to give the Bisons a 3-0 lead in the 3rd inning. Luplow brought home another run in the 6th with a bases-loaded walk to complete Buffalo’s scoring. The Herd finished with two doubles, a home run, 9 walks, and 8 hits. Cam Eden stole his 33rd base. Wes Parsons was outstanding, striking out 9 batters over 6 scoreless innings. Zach Pop looked good, holding the Red Sox to one walk over 1.2 innings while striking out 3 batters. Hayden Juenger finished the game with 1.1 scoreless innings.

New Hampshire- Steward Berroa scored the Fisher Cats’ first run in the 3rd inning when Orelvis Martinez doubled on a line to left field. Damiano Palmegiani added to the lead in the 3rd inning with an RBI single to bring Leo Jimenez home. In the 6th, Sebastian Espino hit a sac fly with Rainer Nunez at 3rd base to give the Cats a 3-0 lead. Sem Robberse turned in a solid start with 5.2 shutout innings. He allowed two hits and walked two while striking out three batters. Andrew Bash held the Sea Dogs hitless over 2.1 innings, striking out 3 and not issuing a free pass. Connor Cooke secured his 2nd save with a no-hit 9th, striking out two batters. Palmegiani and Martinez each finished with 3 hits.

Vancouver- The C’s nailed down another win, scoring 11 runs on 9 hits with two doubles and two home runs. Vancouver walked 9 times and struck out 9 times. Dahian Santos struck out 5 batters over 5 innings, allowing one run on 4 hits. Naswell Paulino allowed one run on 3 hits and 2BB without striking out a batter over 2IP. Justin Kelly and Sam Ryan finished the game with two scoreless innings. Devonte Brown stole two bases.

Dunedin- The D-Jays scored 10 runs on 11 hits while holding the Mets to 3 runs on 6 hits. Jeffrey Wehler went 5-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 3 runs batted in, collecting 2 doubles, a triple, and two stolen bases. Dunedin scored two runs in the 2nd and 8th innings, scoring three runs in the 7th and 9th innings. They finished with four doubles, a triple, a home run, and five stolen bases. Kendry Rojas allowed a solo home run in the 4th inning which stood as his only blemish. He struck out 5 batters over 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and issuing 2 free passes. Brody Rodning was charged with one unearned run while walking two batters over 1.1 innings. Harry Rutkowski picked up his 5th with a scoreless 0.2IP. Yondrei Rojas allowed one run on 3 hits over 3 innings.

Player Spotlight

Today we turn our attention to Cade Doughty.

The 22-year-old former 2nd-round pick played 2nd base and batted 4th for the Vancouver Canadians. After striking out in the 1st inning with runners in scoring position, Cade reached in the 3rd on a hit by a pitch and scored on an Estiven Machado 2-run single. He drew a walk in the 4th. With two on and two outs in the 6th, Doughty went deep to the left to extend the lead to 8-1. Cade stepped to the plate in the 8th inning with Alex De Jesus on 1st. He jumped on the first pitch of the at-bat, sending it over the wall in LF for his 2nd dinger of the day.

Cade was steady in June, slashing .275/.344/.400 with 4 doubles, 2HR, and 11RBI in 21GP. The RHB is now batting .254 with 12 doubles, 9HR, 40RBI, and 34 runs while holding a .784OPS.
